Fight for freedom on the brink of despair In the Midwest of the USA, in a city called Raccoon City, a series of strange missing persons cases has occurred. A special police unit, known as S.T.A.R.S., has investigated the case and found that the pharmaceutical company Umbrella is behind the incidents - however, several members had to lose their lives in the process. Jill Valentine and the other surviving members of S.T.A.R.S. try to make this truth known, but find that the police themselves are under Umbrella's influence and their reports are immediately rejected. However, reports of a brutal "cannibal virus" and vicious dogs roaming the streets are increasing. As the virus spreads directly to their doorstep, Jill is determined to survive. However, she does not yet know that a very powerful pursuer has already been sent to eliminate her.
